General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL5353) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PAK1IP1, targeting the amino acid region 1–392 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human PAK1IP1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. PAK1IP1, also known as PAK1 interacting protein 1, is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes a WD40 repeat-containing protein functioning as an inhibitor of p21-activated kinase 1 (PAK1), a serine/threonine kinase central to cellular signaling pathways involving MAPK8 and RELA. Located on the short arm of chromosome 6 at position 6p24.2, the gene spans 12 exons and produces a 392-amino-acid protein primarily localized to the nucleolus. The WD40 domains in the protein facilitate roles in signal transduction, pre-mRNA processing, and cytoskeleton assembly, while its expression is ubiquitous across human tissues, with notably high levels in the prostate (RPKM 23.6) and appendix (RPKM 6.7). Functionally, PAK1IP1 negatively regulates PAK1 activity to modulate downstream signaling, and it participates in ribosomal large subunit biogenesis as well as the regulation of signal transduction by p53 class mediators, including interactions within the p53-MDM2 loop that influence cell proliferation during ribosomal stress. Key protein interactions include binding to PAK1 for kinase inhibition, with indirect involvement in processes such as acetylcholine receptor clustering via PAK1 regulation.
CABT-BL5353 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application.
CABT-BL5353 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
