Introduction
Thermolysin (EC 3.4.24.27) is a highly thermostable, zinc-dependent metalloendopeptidase produced by the Gram-positive bacterium Bacillus thermoproteolyticus. It is widely used in biochemical research and biotechnology to selectively cleave peptide bonds at the N-terminus of hydrophobic residues (Leu, Phe, Val, Ile, Ala, Met).
