General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-22674) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human UROD, targeting the amino acid region 1–367 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human UROD from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. UROD (Uroporphyrinogen Decarboxylase) is a cytosolic enzyme that plays a key role in the heme biosynthesis pathway. It catalyzes the sequential decarboxylation of uroporphyrinogen III to coproporphyrinogen III, an essential step in the production of heme, which is required for oxygen transport, electron transfer, and various enzymatic reactions. UROD is ubiquitously expressed, reflecting the universal need for heme in aerobic organisms. Deficiency or loss-of-function mutations in UROD lead to porphyria cutanea tarda (PCT), the most common type of porphyria, characterized by photosensitivity, skin fragility, and accumulation of porphyrin intermediates. Because of its central role in heme metabolism, UROD is an important enzyme in cellular redox biology and metabolic homeostasis.
DPABH-22674 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:3,000), IP (0.5-4.0 μg for 1.0-3.0 mg of total protein lysate), IHC (1:50–1:500), IF/ICC (1:50–1:500) applications.
DPABH-22674 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
