This product (Catalog No. DPABH-17394) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human TSN. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with TSN from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by protein A. Translin is a highly conserved, multifunctional DNA- and RNA-binding protein encoded by the TSN gene in humans, forming homooctameric ring structures that facilitate interactions with nucleic acids and playing essential roles in processes such as chromosomal recombination, RNA trafficking, post-transcriptional regulation, and RNAi pathway activation. First identified in the early 1990s as a protein binding to microsatellite repeats and chromosomal translocation hotspots, particularly in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, Translin—also known as testis-brain RNA-binding protein (TB-RBP)—associates with its paralog TRAX to form the C3PO complex, an endoribonuclease involved in tRNA processing and Argonaute-mediated RNA cleavage. Its expression is notably high in the brain and testis, where it regulates mRNA transport (e.g., of BDNF and protamine 2 transcripts) and translation during spermatogenesis and neuronal function, while under genotoxic stress, it translocates to the nucleus to bind DNA damage hotspots.
DPABH-17394 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IHC (1:50–1:200), IF (immunofluorescence) (1:50–1:200) applications.
DPABH-17394 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
