General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-01714) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human TAF6L. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with TAF6L from mouse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. TAF6L, also known as TATA-box binding protein associated factor 6 like, is a protein-coding gene in humans located on chromosome 11q12.3 that encodes a ~70 kDa subunit structurally similar to the histone-like TAF6 protein. The encoded protein, often referred to as PAF65A or PCAF-associated factor 65 alpha, serves as a key component of the PCAF (p300/CBP-associated factor) histone acetylase complex, which comprises over 20 polypeptides including several TBP-associated factors (TAFs). This complex plays a critical role in RNA polymerase II-dependent transcription initiation by facilitating histone acetylation in nucleosomal contexts, thereby promoting chromatin accessibility for transcriptional machinery. TAF6L contributes to the TFIID basal transcription factor complex, aiding in promoter recognition, modification of general transcription factors, and assembly of the preinitiation complex. It is also associated with the SAGA and SLIK (SAGA-like) transcriptional regulator complexes, located primarily in the nucleoplasm and nucleus, and is essential for myogenic transcription and cellular differentiation processes. Expression of TAF6L is ubiquitous across human tissues, with particularly high levels in kidney and adipose tissue. Furthermore, TAF6L, in conjunction with TAF5L, supports the self-renewal of embryonic stem cells by regulating target gene expression primarily through the transcription factor c-MYC and influencing RNA polymerase II pause release.
DPABH-01714 is suitable for use in WB 1 (500-1:2000), IF/ICC 1 (100-1:500) applications.
DPABH-01714 is supplied as a liquid formulation in Phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
