General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-27320) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human SLC8A1, targeting the amino acid region 407–718 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. SLC8A1 (solute carrier family 8 member 1) encodes the Na⁺/Ca²⁺ exchanger 1 (NCX1), a plasma membrane antiporter that plays a critical role in intracellular calcium homeostasis. NCX1 mediates the electrogenic exchange of three extracellular Na⁺ ions for one intracellular Ca²⁺ ion, typically functioning to extrude Ca²⁺ from the cell following excitation. It is highly expressed in cardiac muscle, where it is essential for relaxation during the cardiac cycle by removing cytosolic Ca²⁺ after contraction, and is also present in neurons and other excitable tissues. The directionality of transport can reverse under certain ionic conditions, allowing Ca²⁺ influx, which is physiologically relevant in pathologic states such as ischemia. Dysregulation of SLC8A1 has been implicated in cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, and neurological disorders, underscoring its central role in excitation–contraction coupling and calcium-dependent signaling.
DPABH-27320 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-27320 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
