This product (Catalog No. DPABH-09565) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PROP1, targeting the amino acid region 77–145 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. PROP1 (paired-like homeodomain transcription factor 1) is a human gene located on the long arm of chromosome 5 at position 5q35.3 that encodes a pituitary-specific transcription factor crucial for the development and function of the anterior pituitary gland. The PROP1 protein belongs to the paired-like homeodomain family and regulates the expression of downstream genes, particularly POU1F1 (also known as PIT1), which is essential for the differentiation and proliferation of somatotropes, lactotropes, thyrotropes, and gonadotropes in the pituitary. Expression of PROP1 mRNA peaks during early embryonic pituitary development around day 12 in mice (a model for human ontogeny) and declines thereafter, with low levels persisting in the adult pituitary and in some pituitary adenomas.
DPABH-09565 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-09565 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
