General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-18728) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PLRG1, targeting the amino acid region 194–514 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. PLRG1, officially known as pleiotropic regulator 1, is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4q31.3 in humans that encodes a core component of the spliceosome, a molecular machine essential for pre-mRNA splicing and alternative splice site selection. This evolutionarily conserved protein, characterized by multiple C-terminal WD40 repeats, forms part of the CDC5L complex (also involving PRPF19 and CDC5L) and contributes to both RNA processing and DNA repair mechanisms. Expressed ubiquitously across tissues with highest levels in the thyroid and brain, PLRG1 plays a critical role in regulating p53-dependent cell cycle progression and apoptosis, making it indispensable for cell proliferation and embryonic development. Disruption of PLRG1, as demonstrated in mouse and zebrafish models, leads to early embryonic lethality due to failed cell division, activation of DNA damage responses, and widespread apoptosis.
DPABH-18728 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-18728 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
