This product (Catalog No. DPABH-16662) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PRKCA, targeting the amino acid region 30–311 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Protein kinase C (PKC) enzymes are classified into three major subfamilies—conventional (cPKCs), novel (nPKCs), and atypical (aPKCs)—based on their cofactor dependencies for activation and distinct structural features in the regulatory domain. This classification reflects evolutionary divergences within the AGC kinase superfamily, where PKCs originated in early metazoans from a common ancestor, expanding through gene duplications associated with vertebrate genome tetraploidizations. Conventional PKCs (cPKCs), comprising the isozymes α, βI, βII, and γ, require both calcium ions (Ca²⁺) and diacylglycerol (DAG) for activation, along with phospholipids such as phosphatidylserine. These isozymes possess a Ca²⁺-sensitive C2 domain and tandem C1 domains containing zinc fingers that bind DAG.
DPABH-16662 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-16662 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
