General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-14655) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human PIGU. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with PIGU from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by protein A. PIGU, officially known as phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class U, is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes a subunit of the GPI transamidase complex, which catalyzes the posttranslational attachment of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchors to the C-termini of various eukaryotic cell surface proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum. This 435-amino-acid protein, with nine putative transmembrane domains, is an integral membrane component essential for cleaving the GPI attachment signal peptide and facilitating proper protein localization and function on cell surfaces. Located on chromosome 20q11.22 (GRCh38: 20:34,560,542-34,677,092), PIGU spans approximately 110 kb across 13 exons and exhibits ubiquitous expression, with highest levels in testis and ovary.
DPABH-14655 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IHC (1:50–1:200), IF (immunofluorescence) (1:50–1:200) applications.
DPABH-14655 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide, 50% glycerol, pH7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
