General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-08974) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human PCDHAC2, targeting the amino acid region 42–406 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human PCDHAC2 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Protocadherins, which constitute the largest subgroup within the cadherin superfamily, are predominantly expressed in the nervous system and are probably involved in the regulation of neuronal recognition and connectivity (PMID: 17936607; 12231349; 17133224). The protocadherin subfamily can be further subdivided into three groups: the clustered protocadherins, comprising α-, β-, and γ-protocadherins; δ-protocadherins; and others, many of which are solitary (PMID: 17133224). PCDHAC2 is a subtype of α-protocadherins, mainly expressed by serotonergic neurons. PCDHAC2 is essential for the diffuse projection of serotonergic axons (PMID: 29162883).
DPABH-08974 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application.
DPABH-08974 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
