General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-26434) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human OAT, targeting the amino acid region 1–301 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human OAT from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Ornithine aminotransferase (OAT; EC 2.6.1.13) is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme that catalyzes the reversible transamination of L-ornithine to L-glutamate semialdehyde, using 2-oxoglutarate as the acceptor to produce L-glutamate. This pyridoxal 5'-phosphate-dependent reaction plays a central role in the metabolism of ornithine, linking the urea cycle to the biosynthesis of proline and glutamate, and helping maintain amino acid balance by processing excess nitrogen from protein breakdown. The enzyme is predominantly expressed in tissues such as the liver, kidney, intestine, brain, and retina, where it supports detoxification processes and neurotransmitter regulation.
DPABH-26434 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-26434 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
