This product (Catalog No. DPABH-10406) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human MYH7, targeting the amino acid region 1301–1500 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with MYH7 from mouse, rat, chicken, and horse. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Muscle myosin is a hexameric protein containing 2 heavy chain subunits, 2 alkali light chain subunits, and 2 regulatory light chain subunits. This gene encodes the beta (or slow) heavy chain subunit of cardiac myosin. It is expressed predominantly in normal human ventricle. It is also expressed in skeletal muscle tissues rich in slow-twitch type I muscle fibers. Changes in the relative abundance of this protein and the alpha (or fast) heavy subunit of cardiac myosin correlate with the contractile velocity of cardiac muscle. Its expression is also altered during thyroid hormone depletion and hemodynamic overloading. Mutations in this gene are associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, myosin storage myopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, and Laing distal myopathy.
DPABH-10406 is suitable for use in IHC-P (1:400–1:800), IHC-F (1:400–1:800), IF (immunofluorescence) (1:100–1:500) applications.
DPABH-10406 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
