General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-19542) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human MPI, targeting the amino acid region 2–423 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human MPI from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Mannose-6-phosphate isomerase (EC 5.3.1.8), commonly referred to as phosphomannose isomerase (PMI) or encoded by the MPI gene, is a zinc-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the reversible interconversion of fructose-6-phosphate (F6P) and mannose-6-phosphate (M6P), serving as the first committed step in the biosynthesis of GDP-mannose, a key precursor for mannose-containing glycoconjugates such as glycoproteins, glycolipids, and cell wall polysaccharides. This isomerization reaction is essential for integrating mannose into eukaryotic glycosylation pathways, including N-linked glycosylation on nascent proteins, and links glycolysis intermediates to the production of nucleotide sugars critical for cellular processes like protein folding, cell signaling, and structural integrity. Ubiquitously expressed across human tissues, with elevated levels in organs such as the heart, brain, liver, and intestines, PMI is conserved across eukaryotes, bacteria, and fungi, underscoring its fundamental role in carbohydrate metabolism and organismal viability.
DPABH-19542 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-19542 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
