This product (Catalog No. DPABH-04449) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human MMP8, targeting the amino acid region 241–340 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with MMP8 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. This gene encodes a member of the matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) family of proteins. These proteins are involved in the breakdown of extracellular matrix in embryonic development, reproduction, and tissue remodeling, as well as in disease processes, such as arthritis and metastasis. Proteolysis at different sites on this protein results in multiple active forms of the enzyme with distinct N-termini. This protein functions in the degradation of type I, II and III collagens. The gene is part of a cluster of MMP genes which localize to chromosome 11q22.3. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. DPABH-04449 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application. DPABH-04449 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
