General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-20728) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human LMOD1, targeting the amino acid region 316–497 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Leiomodin 1 (LMOD1) is an actin-binding protein encoded by the LMOD1 gene on human chromosome 1q32.1, functioning primarily as a potent nucleator of unbranched actin filaments essential for the assembly and organization of thin filaments in smooth muscle cells. Structurally, the short isoform of LMOD1 consists of 572 amino acids with a molecular mass of approximately 64 kDa, featuring a flexible N-terminal region, a central leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domain, and a C-terminal extension that includes a WASP-homology 2 (WH2) domain critical for its nucleation activity. This protein shares sequence homology with tropomodulin but possesses three distinct actin-binding sites that enable it to stabilize trimeric actin nuclei, accelerating filament polymerization more effectively than spontaneous assembly.
DPABH-20728 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-20728 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
