General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-11742) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human INSIG1, targeting the amino acid region 101–200 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with INSIG1 from mouse, rat, chicken, dog, pig, cow, rabbit, and sheep. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. This gene encodes an endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein that regulates cholesterol metabolism, lipogenesis, and glucose homeostasis. The encoded protein has six transmembrane helices which contain an effector protein binding site. It binds the sterol-sensing domains of sterol regulatory element-binding protein (SREBP) cleavage-activating protein (SCAP) and 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (HMG-CoA reductase), and is essential for the sterol-mediated trafficking of these two proteins. It promotes the endoplasmic reticulum retention of SCAP and the ubiquitin-mediated degradation of HMG-CoA reductase. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
DPABH-11742 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) application.
DPABH-11742 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
