General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CPBT-43547RH) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human PIWIL4, targeting the amino acid region 751–852 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with PIWIL4 from mouse, rat, dog, cow, horse, rabbit, sheep, and monkey. It has been affinity purified by protein A. Piwi like RNA-mediated gene silencing 4 (PIWIL4) is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes a member of the PIWI subfamily of Argonaute proteins, which are key effectors in the piRNA (PIWI-interacting RNA) pathway for RNA-mediated gene silencing. Located on chromosome 11q21, the PIWIL4 protein, also known as HIWI2, binds to 24–32 nucleotide piRNAs to form complexes that primarily target and repress transposable elements (TEs) in germline cells, thereby safeguarding genomic integrity during spermatogenesis and preventing mutations that could lead to infertility or disease.
CPBT-43547RH is suitable for use in IHC-P (1:100–1:500), IHC-F (1:100–1:500), IF (immunofluorescence) (1:100–1:500) applications.
CPBT-43547RH is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
