General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-04002) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human GRM8, targeting the amino acid region 31–400 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human GRM8 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. GRM8 (Glutamate Metabotropic Receptor 8) is a group III metabotropic glutamate receptor (mGluR) that belongs to the G protein–coupled receptor family and is primarily involved in modulating excitatory neurotransmission in the central nervous system. It is mainly expressed in the brain, particularly in regions associated with sensory processing and synaptic regulation. GRM8 is coupled to Gi/o proteins, and upon activation by glutamate, it inhibits adenylyl cyclase activity, leading to reduced cyclic AMP levels and modulation of neuronal excitability. Through this mechanism, it plays an important role in regulating synaptic transmission, neuronal plasticity, and neuroprotective responses. GRM8 has been implicated in various neurological and psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, epilepsy, and pain perception, making it a potential therapeutic target for modulating excitatory signaling in the brain.
DPABH-04002 is suitable for use in IHC (1:50–1:500) application.
DPABH-04002 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
