General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-14304) is a rabbit-derived IgG polyclonal antibody raised against human CHRNA3, targeting the amino acid region 101–200 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with CHRNA3 from mouse, rat, chicken, dog, pig, cow, horse, rabbit, and sheep. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. This locus encodes a member of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor family of proteins. Members of this family of proteins form pentameric complexes comprised of both alpha and beta subunits. This locus encodes an alpha-type subunit, as it contains characteristic adjacent cysteine residues. The encoded protein is a ligand-gated ion channel that likely plays a role in neurotransmission. Polymorphisms in this gene have been associated with an increased risk of smoking initiation and an increased susceptibility to lung cancer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
DPABH-14304 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000), IHC-P (1:100–1:500), IHC-F (1:100–1:500), IF (immunofluorescence) (1:100–1:500), ELISA (1:5,000–1:10,000) applications.
DPABH-14304 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M TBS (pH7.4) with 1% BSA, 0.02% Proclin300 and 50% Glycerol. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
