General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-25962) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CHRNA3, targeting the amino acid region 32–240 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human CHRNA3 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. CHRNA3 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes the α3 subunit of the neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR), a ligand-gated ion channel critical for cholinergic neurotransmission in the autonomic nervous system. Located on the long arm of chromosome 15 at position 15q25.1, the gene spans approximately 28 kb and consists of 9 exons, producing multiple transcript isoforms, including two protein-coding variants with a mature mRNA of 3.0–3.5 kb primarily expressed in neuronal tissues such as autonomic ganglia, thymus, and neuroblastoma cell lines. The encoded protein, a 505 amino acid precursor polypeptide including a signal peptide, assembles into heteropentameric complexes with β subunits (such as CHRNB2 or CHRNB4) to form cation-selective channels activated by acetylcholine, facilitating rapid synaptic signaling.
DPABH-25962 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:2,000) applications.
DPABH-25962 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.5% BSA, 0.02% sodium azide. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
