This product (Catalog No. DPABH-26389) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CD82, targeting the amino acid region 111–228 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. CD82 is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes the CD82 molecule, also known as KAI1, a member of the tetraspanin family of transmembrane glycoproteins characterized by four transmembrane domains and a large extracellular loop. Located on the short arm of chromosome 11 at cytogenetic band 11p11.2 (genomic coordinates: 44,564,409-44,620,358 on GRCh38), the gene spans approximately 56 kb and consists of 10 exons, producing two alternatively spliced isoforms. As a key regulator of cell motility and adhesion, CD82 primarily functions as a metastasis suppressor, inhibiting tumor cell invasion, migration, and proliferation through mechanisms such as upregulation of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases 1 (TIMP1), inactivation of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9), and stabilization of integrin localization to maintain epithelial polarity.
DPABH-26389 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-26389 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
