In mammals, B7-H3 expression is induced upon activation in T-cells, B-cells, dendritic cells, NK cells and monocytes. B7-H3 is also expressed by various carcinoma cells. B7-H3 has been described as a co-inhibitory molecule and is reported to negatively regulate Th1-mediated immune responses.
