This product (Catalog No. DPABH-06698) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CD1B, targeting the amino acid region 18–303 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. CD1b, also known as T-cell surface glycoprotein CD1b, is a transmembrane glycoprotein encoded by the CD1B gene located on human chromosome 1q23.1, belonging to the CD1 family of non-polymorphic major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I-like molecules that specialize in presenting lipid and glycolipid antigens—rather than peptides—to T lymphocytes for immune recognition. Unlike classical MHC proteins, CD1b forms a heterodimer with β₂-microglobulin and features a uniquely large antigen-binding groove composed of four interconnected hydrophobic pockets (A′, F′, C′, and T′), enabling it to accommodate structurally diverse and often lengthy lipid antigens, such as those up to C₈₀ in chain length, with polar headgroups exposed for T cell receptor interaction. This protein is primarily expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells, including myeloid dendritic cells, B cells, and macrophages, and is notable for its trafficking to late endosomal and lysosomal compartments via a tyrosine-based sorting motif in its cytoplasmic tail, where it captures self-lipids and microbial antigens in an acidic environment facilitated by lipid transfer proteins like saposins.
DPABH-06698 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-06698 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
