General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-00430) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human CASR, targeting the amino acid region 63–531 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. CASR (calcium-sensing receptor) encodes a class C G protein–coupled receptor (GPCR) that plays a central role in systemic calcium homeostasis. The receptor is primarily expressed in the parathyroid glands and kidneys, where it detects subtle changes in extracellular Ca²⁺ concentration. Upon activation by elevated extracellular calcium, CASR triggers intracellular signaling pathways (via Gq/11 and Gi/o proteins) that suppress parathyroid hormone (PTH) secretion and modulate renal calcium reabsorption, thereby maintaining stable serum calcium levels. Beyond classical calcium regulation, CASR is also expressed in bone, gastrointestinal tract, and other tissues, where it contributes to cellular proliferation, differentiation, and fluid balance. Genetic mutations in CASR are associated with disorders of calcium metabolism, including familial hypocalciuric hypercalcemia and autosomal dominant hypocalcemia. Overall, CASR functions as a critical extracellular calcium sensor linking mineral ion balance to endocrine and cellular signaling mechanisms.
DPABH-00430 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-00430 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
