2015 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING AND LIFE SCIENCE (BELS 2015)
Objectives: Obesity is associated with breast cancer. Our aim was to study gene expression differences of Wnt pathway in breast cancer patients when they have different BMI. Methods: According to established WHO criteria, breast cancer patients were divided into normal, overweight, obese three groups. We extracted Wnt pathway gene expression data of the three groups, perform one-way ANOVA and LSD-t test. According to the significance level, we confirm whether there exist differences in gene expression. Rresults: In breast cancer patients with different degrees of obesity, some genes of Wnt pathway showing differential expression, a total of fifteen, are as follows: CTBP2, CREBBP, ROCK2, BAMBI, PSEN1, FZD7, MAP3K7, CUL1, PPP3CB, NFATC3, BTRC, NLK, FRAT1, CSNK1E, and CAMK2B. Conclusions: Differential gene expression of Wnt pathway in the three groups is closely related to the degree of obesity in breast cancer patients. These genes are widely distributed in the Wnt pathway.
