General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-00487) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human BIN1, targeting the amino acid region 1–276 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human BIN1 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. BIN1, or Bridging Integrator 1 (also known as amphiphysin 2), is a human gene located on chromosome 2q14.3 that encodes a nucleocytoplasmic adaptor protein with diverse roles in cellular processes, including endocytosis, apoptosis, and membrane curvature sensing via its BAR domain. The protein exists in multiple isoforms through alternative splicing, with brain-specific variants facilitating synaptic vesicle endocytosis by interacting with proteins like dynamin, synaptojanin, endophilin, and clathrin, while muscle-specific isoforms contribute to the formation of transverse tubules essential for contraction. Ubiquitously expressed isoforms localize to the cytoplasm and nucleus, promoting caspase-independent apoptosis and acting as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting oncogenic MYC activity.
DPABH-00487 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-00487 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
