General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-26505) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human ALDH1A2, targeting the amino acid region 1–422 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human ALDH1A2 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. ALDH1A2 is a protein-coding gene located on human chromosome 15q21.3 that encodes retinaldehyde dehydrogenase 2 (RALDH2), an enzyme belonging to the aldehyde dehydrogenase 1 family (ALDH1A). This enzyme plays a critical role in the irreversible oxidation of retinaldehyde to retinoic acid (RA), the bioactive form of vitamin A essential for embryonic patterning and cellular signaling. The primary function of ALDH1A2 is to generate local gradients of RA during development, acting in concert with cytochrome P450 family 26 subfamily A member 1 (CYP26A1) to regulate RA levels in embryonic tissues. RA serves as a morphogen that binds to nuclear retinoic acid receptors (RARs), forming heterodimers with retinoid X receptors (RXRs) to activate transcription of target genes involved in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Expression of ALDH1A2 is biased toward tissues such as the endometrium, testis, and fetal organs including the heart, intestine, and kidney, with peak activity during early embryogenesis to support organogenesis.
DPABH-26505 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-26505 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
