General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DPABH-22693) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human ADAM23, targeting the amino acid region 107–489 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. ADAM23, or A Disintegrin And Metalloprotease domain 23, is a human gene located on chromosome 2q33.3 that encodes a transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the ADAM family of proteins, which are involved in cell adhesion and signaling but lack proteolytic activity in this case due to a disrupted zinc-binding motif in the metalloproteinase domain. The protein, consisting of 832 amino acids, features a prodomain, disintegrin domain for integrin binding, cysteine-rich domain, epidermal growth factor-like domain, and a transmembrane region, enabling roles in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions without enzymatic cleavage functions typical of other ADAMs. Primarily expressed in the brain, ADAM23 is detected in multiple transcript forms ranging from 3.5 to 7 kb and shares about 52% sequence similarity with related proteins like ADAM22 and ADAM28.
DPABH-22693 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
DPABH-22693 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
