Cell Line Description
Animals were immunized human brain homogenate of multiple sclerosis plaques obtained at autopsy. Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells. The antibody recognizes a novel intermediate filament associated protein (MW 100000) with similarity to alpha actinin. This antibody intensely stains astroglia and related macroglia in cryostat sections of human and rat central nervous system tissue.

Subculturing
Incubate cells at 37°C with 5% CO2 in air atmosphere, renew medium every 2-3 days, start cells at 1x10^5 cells/mL and maintain cultures between 0.5x10^5-1x10^6 cells/ml

Freezing medium: to complete growth medium, add 5%(v/v) DMSO
