General Description
L-lactate dehydrogenase A (LDHA) catalyzes the reversible reduction of pyruvate to lactate coupled to NAD+/NADH exchange, the terminal step of anaerobic glycolysis. It is prominently induced under hypoxia and in the Warburg effect of cancer cells, making it a metabolic and diagnostic target.
