General Description
DNAJB1 encodes Hdj-1, a member of the Hsp40/DnaJ co-chaperone family that cooperates with Hsp70 to fold client proteins, suppress aggregation, and regulate stress responses. It participates in protein quality control, viral replication, and immune signaling. As a highly immunogenic heat-shock protein often upregulated in infection, inflammation, and cancer, DNAJB1 is a candidate diagnostic marker and a source of tumor-/pathogen-associated antigenic peptides for vaccine development.
