General Description
BCAP31 encodes B-cell receptor-associated protein 31, an endoplasmic-reticulum membrane protein that couples protein folding, quality control, and ER-to-Golgi transport with apoptosis signaling. It interacts with the B-cell receptor complex and with CALR/CD81 and is implicated in immune-cell development and in disease-linked protein misfolding. Its ER exposure and role in antigen-receptor biology make it a candidate marker in lymphoid malignancy and an accessory target in viral immune-evasion studies.
