Cell Line Description

Animals were immunized with a synthetic polypeptide with the sequence (C)GSSKSKPKDPSQRRHS corresponding to peptides 2 to 17 of the v-src oncogene. Spleen cells were fused with Sp2/0 myeloma cells. In immunoblot screening, the antibody specially reacts with a 60 kd protein in the src transformed T2 cell line. A number of additional proteins are also detected in cell lines and embryo tissues including a 50 kd protein in the urine of cancer patients as well as the amniotic fluid of pregnant patients. The reactivity of the antibody with the src peptide (2-17) was confirmed by ELISA.

Subculturing

Incubate cells at 37°C with 5% CO2 in air atmosphere, renew medium every 2-3 days, start cells at 2x10^5 cells/mL and maintain cultures between 2x10^5-2x10^6 cells/ml
