Animals were immunized with schizont enriched P. falciparum. Spleen cells were fused with P3X63Ag8.653 myeloma cells. The antibody reacts with a 185000 dalton polypeptide (and processing fragments of the polypeptide) from P. falciparum merozoites. The antibody reacted with 7 isolates of P. falciparum obtained from 7 different geographical areas.

Incubate cells at 37°C with 5% CO2 in air atmosphere, renew medium every 2-3 days, start cells at 2x10^5 cells/mL and maintain cultures between 1x10^5-1x10^6 cells/ml

Freezing medium: to complete growth medium, add 5%(v/v) DMSO
