Cell Line Description
Animals were immunized with partially purified human platelet glycoproteins IIb and IIIa (GPIIb and GPIIIa, respectively). Spleen cells were fused with NS-1 myeloma cells. The antibody recognizes all known allelic forms of the beta 3 subunit of the integrin superfamily. The two glycoproteins (GPIIb and GPIIIa) together form the platelet binding site for fibrinogen. The antibody reacts specifically with GPIIIa, but does not inhibit platelet aggregation. It is useful for studies of human GPIIIa expression by flow cytometry, Western blot (non-reduced) and affinity chromatography methods. The antibody can also be used for the classification of human megakaryocytic leukemias and Glanzmann thrombasthenia.
Application Notes
Studies of human GPIIIa expression by FC, WB (non-reduced) and affinity chromatography methods.
