The heterohybridoma was produced by fusion of lymphocytes from ponies immunised with the influenza A equine 2 virus with mouse myeloma NS0 cells. The hybridoma was made aminopterin-sensitive by selective growth in 8-azaguanine. This non-Ig-secreting cell line was used as fusion partner for the establishment of equine-mouse heterohybidomas.
