Introduction
Nabumetone is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug with analgesic and antipyretic effects. It is a prodrug that is metabolized to an active cyclooxygenase inhibitor. Nabumetone reduces prostaglandin synthesis involved in inflammation and pain. It is widely used as a reference NSAID in pharmacological research. The compound is also studied for gastrointestinal safety profiles. Its metabolic activation is well characterized.
