Antigen Description
Metformin is an agent belonging to the biguanide class of antidiabetics with antihyperglycemic activity. It is mainly used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and can be used alone or in combination with sulfonylureas, thiazolidinediones or other hypoglycemic agents. Up to now, metformin is the most widely used medication for diabetes taken by mouth.
