Introduction
Megestrol is a synthetic progestin with strong progestational and antineoplastic activity, acting on progesterone receptors to regulate hormonal signaling. It is used clinically to treat cachexia and hormone-responsive cancers. Due to its well-defined steroidal structure, it is widely used in research on endocrine regulation and steroid–receptor interactions.
