This product (Catalog No. DMAB-CBAS114) is a mouse-derived monoclonal antibody raised against human VEGFD. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor D (VEGFD) is a crucial member of the PDGF/VEGF family, playing a significant role in both lymphangiogenesis and angiogenesis. VEGFD has been identified as the strongest angiogenic and lymphangiogenic effector among VEGF family members, demonstrating high mitogenic ability and a stronger affinity for VEGFR-2 compared to other VEGFs. The protein encoded by VEGFD exists as a disulfide-linked structure and binds to heparin, interacting with VEGF receptors to promote endothelial cell growth and vascular permeability. Research has shown that VEGFD levels may have distinct relationships with mortality and cardiovascular events in certain patient populations, highlighting its potential as a biomarker for vascular-related conditions.
