General Notes
This product (Catalog No. DMAB-CPT857) is a rabbit-derived monoclonal antibody raised against human TGS1. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. TGS1, or trimethylguanosine synthase 1, is a protein-coding gene in humans that encodes an enzyme responsible for catalyzing the hypermethylation of the 7-methylguanosine (m⁷G) cap structure on small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs) and small nucleolar RNAs (snoRNAs), converting it to 2,2,7-trimethylguanosine (TMG). This modification occurs in two sequential N²-methylation steps and is crucial for the nuclear export, stability, and function of these RNAs in processes such as pre-mRNA splicing and ribosome biogenesis. Located on chromosome 8q12.1, the TGS1 protein is predominantly found in the nucleus and cytosol, where it interacts with RNA polymerase II transcripts to facilitate cap hypermethylation. Mutations in TGS1 have been linked to neurodevelopmental disorders, including pontocerebellar hypoplasia type 7, characterized by severe motor and cognitive impairments due to disrupted RNA processing.
DMAB-CPT857 is suitable for use in Cytometric Bead Array (0.625-20 ng/mL) application.
DMAB-CPT857 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS only. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
