This product (Catalog No. CABT-L1548W) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human FNDC5, targeting the amino acid region 165–212 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human FNDC5 from rat and mouse. FNDC5 (fibronectin type III domain containing 5) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1p35.1 in humans that encodes a transmembrane glycoprotein primarily expressed in skeletal muscle, heart, and brain tissues. The encoded protein, also known as FNDC5, undergoes proteolytic cleavage to release its C-terminal fragment, a myokine termed irisin, which circulates in the bloodstream and mediates intercellular signaling, particularly in response to physical exercise. Irisin plays a central role in metabolic regulation by promoting the browning of white adipose tissue and enhancing energy expenditure, thereby linking muscle activity to systemic health benefits.

CABT-L1548W is supplied as a lyophilized formulation. Reconstitute with 50 μl of distilled water for the equivalent of undiluted antiserum. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
