General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-L1533W) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human Adiponutrin, targeting the amino acid region 436–481 of the protein. PNPLA3, or patatin-like phospholipase domain-containing protein 3, is a gene located on the long arm of chromosome 22 at position 22q13.31 that encodes a 481-amino-acid protein primarily expressed in hepatocytes and adipocytes. This protein functions as a triglyceride lipase with specificity for hydrolyzing polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA)-enriched triglycerides stored in lipid droplets, independent of adipose triglyceride lipase (ATGL), to mobilize PUFAs for incorporation into phospholipids like phosphatidylcholine. Its expression is dynamically regulated, decreasing during fasting and increasing postprandially to support lipogenesis and lipolysis in response to dietary fats and carbohydrates. By facilitating the desaturation of endoplasmic reticulum membranes and the assembly of large very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) particles, PNPLA3 helps balance hepatic triglyceride storage and export, preventing excessive lipid accumulation in the liver.
CABT-L1533W is suitable for use in ELISA application.
CABT-L1533W is supplied as a lyophilized formulation. Reconstitute with 100 μl of distilled water for the equivalent of undiluted antiserum. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
