Introduction
DM1 (mertansine) is a thiol-containing derivative of maytansine. It binds to tubulin and inhibits the assembly of microtubules. DM1 is used to prepare antibody-drug conjugates, such as trastuzumab emtansine (abbreviated as T-DM1).
