This product (Catalog No. CABT-L1540W) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against canine Canine Motilin. Motilin is a 22-amino-acid peptide hormone primarily synthesized and secreted by specialized enteroendocrine Mo cells located in the mucosal epithelium of the duodenum and proximal jejunum in the upper small intestine. It plays a central role in regulating gastrointestinal (GI) motility, particularly by initiating the phase III contractions of the migrating motor complex (MMC) during fasting periods, which helps clear residual contents from the stomach and small intestine. Discovered in the early 1970s as a factor promoting gastric emptying, motilin is conserved across many mammals but absent in rodents, where the related hormone ghrelin assumes similar functions. CABT-L1540W is suitable for use in ELISA application. CABT-L1540W is supplied as a lyophilized formulation. Reconstitute with 50 μl of distilled water for the equivalent of undiluted antiserum. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
