Introduction
P30 is a 30-kDa phosphoprotein of ASFV that is synthesized, membrane localized, and released into the culture medium at early times after infection. Sequence analysis of the p30 open reading frame predicts a highly antigenic protein with putative phosphorylation, glycosylation, and membrane attachment sites. Among the structural proteins that compose the virion of ASFV, p30 is one of the most immunogenic proteins and being produced during early stage of ASFV infection makes it a good target for diagnostic assays to detect ASFV infection.
