General Description
Aminophylline is a bronchodilator compound composed of the theophylline with ethylenediamine added (ratio of 2:1) to increase bioavailability, and is given to treat respiratory diseases including asthma, panting bronchitis, and cardiogenic asthma. AMP quickly releases theophylline in buffer solutions (pH 7.4) and blood samples, and when the dose is greater than 20 μg/mL, it can occasionally produce serious toxicity issues, including nausea, emesis, and central nervous system excitation.
