General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL5987) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human YIPF5, targeting the amino acid region 1–131 of the protein. This antibody exhibits cross-reactivity with Human YIPF5 from mouse and rat. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. YIPF5 (Yip1 domain family member 5) is a multi-pass transmembrane protein primarily localized to the early secretory pathway, including the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and Golgi apparatus. It belongs to the YIPF family, which is implicated in ER–Golgi trafficking and maintenance of Golgi structure. YIPF5 is thought to function as a membrane organizer or scaffold protein that supports vesicle formation, cargo sorting, and membrane protein maturation during intracellular transport. It is particularly important for proper Golgi stack integrity and efficient protein secretion. Genetic and functional studies suggest that YIPF5 may also participate in stress responses related to ER homeostasis, and its dysfunction can disrupt secretory pathway dynamics, potentially affecting processes such as cell growth, differentiation, and protein processing.
CABT-BL5987 is suitable for use in Western blot (WB) (1:500–1:3,000), IHC (1:50–1:500) applications.
CABT-BL5987 is supplied as a liquid formulation in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol, pH 7.3. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
