General Notes
This product (Catalog No. CABT-BL3637) is a rabbit-derived polyclonal antibody raised against human TNP1, targeting the amino acid region 1–55 of the protein. It has been affinity purified by Protein A. Transition protein 1 (TNP1) is a small, arginine-rich protein encoded by the TNP1 gene, which plays a pivotal role in mammalian spermatogenesis by facilitating the replacement of somatic histones with protamines in the nuclei of elongating spermatids, thereby enabling the compaction and stabilization of sperm chromatin essential for fertilization. Expressed exclusively in postmeiotic male germ cells, particularly round spermatids, TNP1 acts as a transient intermediary in this nucleoprotein exchange, binding DNA to initiate chromatin remodeling before being displaced by protamines such as PRM1 and PRM2 in mature spermatozoa.
CABT-BL3637 is suitable for use in ELISA (1:4,000–1:8,000), IHC (1:50–1:100), Western blot (WB) (1:1,000–1:4,000) applications.
CABT-BL3637 is supplied as a liquid formulation in 0.01M PBS, pH 7.4, 50% Glycerol, 0.05% Proclin 300. For long-term storage, keep at −20 °C. For short-term use, store at 2–8 °C. Avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycles to maintain antibody integrity and performance.
